YEAR 13 ENGLISH SYLLABUS

The English Language Year 13 Syllabus promotes the integration of the three strands of Reading and Viewing, Writing and Shaping, and Listening and Speaking in the teaching and learning processes. This organisation does not mean that the strands have to be taught separately for they are interwoven and interlinked.

 This syllabus is organised into three Strands which are drawn from the three modes of communication. These Strands are organised into Sub-strands and they include the text types used for communication; the socio-cultural contexts and situations in which texts are used; the features and rules of the language; and the language strategies and processes used to interpret and construct the meaning of texts
